About me

My name is Matt East and I qualified as a Physiotherapist from University of East London in 2000. During my career I have worked in a wide variety of settings both within the NHS and Private Healthcare. Since moving back to Cornwall I have spent the last 6 years dividing my time between private practice treating people with a wide range of injuries, musculoskeletal problems and illnesses as well as working part-time at Mount Edgecumbe Hospice treating and rehabilitating people with complex illnesses and symptoms.  I also spent two seasons working with elite athletes at Newquay & Par Athletics club and have worked with both surfers and fencers competing at international level.

Often presenting symptoms can be as a result of stress, diet or other environmental factors.  I feel it's extremely important to take a holistic approach to healthcare if long term resolution or management of symptoms is to be achieved.  My aim is to provide a drug free management of pain and health problems whenever possible.

I specialise in anxiety, chronic & acute low back/neck pain, migraines, TMJ (jaw problems), shoulder issues, sports injuries, digestive disorders, ME/fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue and stress related conditions.

Since qualifying I continue to attend post-graduate courses and have a wide range of therapies/ modalities I can use, enabling me to choose the most appropriate intervention for each individual.
